Welcome to Our School

Welcome to La Petite Academy! My name is Ashley Hetherington and I am the Academy Director. I have been part of the La Petite family for over five years and I am proud of the recognition received for my work with children in our community and their success in school after leaving our care.

Our school offers Infant Care, Preschool, and other early education programs. Our experienced staff thoroughly enjoys working with our children on a daily basis and watching them grow and develop into lifetime learners.

Over the past five years, it has been a privilege to partner with students, parents, and teachers to lead our school as the Center Director. I have worked in child care for over 15 years and studied at Alabama Southern Community College. I am currently studying at the University of Phoenix. I strive to provide the best environment for our little learners.

Education: Bachelor’s degree from the University of Alabama in Child Development & Master’s at the University of West Alabama in Child Psychology

Certifications: CPR, First Aid

My name is Tara Collins and I have the pleasure of serving as the Assistant Director here at La Petite Academy of Mercedes in Vance, Alabama. I have worked in child care for nine years! I love providing quality care for our sweet families, and seeing the children reach all of their milestones and make wonderful memories!
