Welcome to our La Petite Academy educational daycare in Tampa, FL! My name is Amanda and I am the center director. I have been with La Petite for several years as both a teacher and manager. I have a bachelor's degree in elementary education and a Level I Florida Director's Credential.
This school here in Tampa has been open since 1988. We currently have six former students who now bring their own children here! In addition to providing superior infant care, our preschool options offer the best early education in the community.
Our school is nationally accredited by the National Early Childhood Program Accreditation. This accreditation also awards us a Gold Seal title with our county's Department of Childcare Licensing. We have an outstanding staff with a combined 150 years of experience in early childhood education. They all receive monthly training as well as ongoing training by the state.
In light of recent event such as COVID-19, we have increased our safety procedures. Temperature checks are conducted on every student and staff member who enters the facility. Masks are required at all times for staff members and families are asked to remain outside of the building during drop off and pick up to ensure we have the safest environment for our children. We have increased our already rigorous clearing schedule and added a dedicated housekeeper to ensure everything is disinfected and sanitized. We know how important it is for our families to stay connected with their child's school so we are introducing WatchMeGrow, a live camera streaming service. You can feel connected your child from anywhere. For our school age children, we have developed a program called Prep Lab that helps to curb the "summer slide", ensuring they are ready for the upcoming school year. Workbooks have been designed for each grade level and themed to match our Camp Innovate. We look forward to welcoming you into our family!
Starting at the front door, our already robust health and safety procedures have been enhanced to ensure a clean, welcoming school environment. The well-being of your child is our top priority, now, and always.
For an additional fee, go beyond regular classroom learning experiences with our enhanced series of fun, interactive enrichment programs exploring a variety of activities. We offer:
Dance, Gymnastics, Soccer, Music, Yoga, Spanish, Phonics, Handwriting & Advanced Math
We’ve been recognized as a high-quality early education program.
Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten (VPK) is a free daily, 4-hour program that includes breakfast and lunch, with the option of extended wrap care. This full-day learning experience enhances your child’s school readiness journey. Every child who turns 4 by September 1 may be eligible for free VPK. Schedule a tour to learn more.

I began my career with La Petite Academy in 2011 as a preschool teacher. During my studies in psychology I had the pleasure to study child psychology as well which helped increase my knowledge of how young children learn. Teaching young minds and helping families with their early childhood educational journey is definitely a passion of mine and something I look forward to daily.
