Thank you for visiting La Petite Academy educational daycare in Tampa, FL! My name is Kimberly Sewell and I am the director. I started with La Petite Academy in 1995 and have my A.A. degree as well as 25 years of experience as a teacher and manager.
Our academy, which was established in 1986, provides both infant care and preschool programs and is deeply rooted in our community. We are accredited by the National Early Childhood Program Accreditation, which means that the standards we follow are higher than the State of Florida's Child Daycare Licensing Standards.
We strive to create a warm and welcoming environment and maintain an open door policy for our parents. We plan a lot of events for our families to participate in and we work hard to ensure that families meet each other and develop strong relationships.
We have an outstanding staff that is dedicated to our children and families. Most of our teachers have more than 10 years of teaching experience.

When I started with La Petite Academy 23 years ago as a teacher, it taught me the foundation I needed to grow with the company. I have always had a true passion for the care and education of children. Watching children learn and grow is the most rewarding experience to have.
Education: Bachelor of Arts in Communication Sciences and Disorders, Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction
Certifications: Florida Department of Education Teacher ESE K-12, Speech Pathologist Assistant, Infant-Toddler Developmental Specialist
I previously worked with children ages birth to five years old as an infant-toddler developmental specialist, a speech pathologist assistant, and as a special education teacher. I am passionate about working with children and using my expertise to provide their caregivers with strategies to help students reach their greatest learning potentials.
Education: CDA, 45 DCF hours
I joined La Petite Academy in 2015. After spending two years teaching, I was excited to expand my role as a team lead. I love leading the school, challenging and supporting staff and children to be the best they can be. It is the success of every child in this school that makes my job rewarding.
