Thank you for visiting La Petite Academy educational daycare in Tampa, FL! My name is Kimberly Sewell and I am the director. I started with La Petite Academy in 1995 and have my A.A. degree as well as 30 years of experience as a teacher and manager.
Our academy, which was established in 1986, provides both Infant Care and Preschool programs and is deeply rooted in our community. We are accredited by the National Early Childhood Program Accreditation, which means that the standards we follow are higher than the State of Florida's Child Daycare Licensing Standards.
During this time of heightened health concerns we have updated our health and safety procedures to ensure all children and families remain safe and healthy. Health checks are taken prior to any individual entering the building. All families children are taken from them and brought to them outside of the front door. Tours are currently being conducted only in our front office. These procedures help to eliminate the flow of traffic through our classrooms. Cleaning and sanitation are done daily and we have implemented a designated housekeeper to ensure all cleaning and sanitation are done.
We offer our free live streaming video where parents can view their child's classroom from their devices.
We have implemented The Prep Lab for our School-Age children to help them focus on their educational needs during this time.
We have an outstanding staff that is dedicated to our children and families. Most of our teachers have more than 10 years of teaching experience.
Schedule a tour of our La Petite Academy in Tampa, FL today! We look forward to meeting you!

When I started with La Petite Academy 23 years ago as a teacher, it taught me the foundation I needed to grow with the company. I have always had a true passion for the care and education of children. Watching children learn and grow is the most rewarding experience to have.
Education: Bachelor of Arts in Communication Sciences and Disorders, Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction
Certifications: Florida Department of Education Teacher ESE K-12, Speech Pathologist Assistant, Infant-Toddler Developmental Specialist
I previously worked with children ages birth to five years old as an infant-toddler developmental specialist, a speech pathologist assistant, and as a special education teacher. I am passionate about working with children and using my expertise to provide their caregivers with strategies to help students reach their greatest learning potentials.
