Welcome to Our School

Welcome to Tarleton State University Child Development Center, here on the campus of Tarleton State University. My name is Melinda and I'm the school director as well as Tarleton State University alumna! I have a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education as well as a Master's degree in educational administration.

Our school provides the campus community with premium early childhood education. We offer Twos, Early Preschool, Preschool, and Pre-K programs for children ages two to five years. Through our STEM-based curriculum, your child will achieve milestones in cognitive, linguistic, physical and social-emotional development, all within our safe and secure environment.

Our school is staffed with wonderful teachers who are passionate about playing a vital role in your child’s development. Additionally, they participate in education and safety training throughout the year.

Meet Our Staff

Melinda Parker, Director

Education: Master's Degree in Educational Administration; Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education

Certifications: Mid- Management Administrator, All level Special Education, Educational Diagnostician

I am a veteran educator with many years of experience in public education as a teacher and administrator. As our school director, I am committed to helping students realize their full potentials while working side by side with their families. I'm married and have two daughters and four grandchildren. In my spare time, I enjoy reading and riding horses.

Stacy Gossett , Assistant Director

Education: Elementary Education Degree (In Progress)

I have 10 years’ experience in childcare and formerly worked in the field of Applied Behavioral Analysis as a Registered Behavioral Technician, working with clients on the Autism Spectrum. I enjoy watching children become lifelong learners as they progress through the early stages of development and acquire the skills to succeed in the classroom and beyond. I am a wife and mother of two daughters, and enjoy the outdoors, camping and am an avid football and basketball fan.
