Welcome to Our School

Since March 1988, La Petite Academy of Lexington Lansdown has offered daycare and preschool in Lexington, Kentucky, near Jason's Deli. We are proud to be Quality Rated. Credentials on our team include CPR and First Aid certifications and a Kentucky Director's Credential.

Our classrooms for ages 6 weeks to 12 years include Infants, Toddlers, Twos, Preschool, Pre-K, and Before and After School Care. Flexible daycare is available through Drop-in Care, Part-time schedules, and School Breaks to help you plan. Third-party assistance is accepted, and we can talk it through on tour. In summer, join Wondercamp for weekly themes such as Wonders of Garden, plus water activities. Babies explore through Learn from the Start®, and Learn as We Grow® for Toddlers through Pre-K invites problem-solving with classmates, like two-year-olds spotting seasonal changes outdoors.

Working with children has always been my passion. After teaching head start for two years, I decided to change directions and focus on helping and supporting teachers by providing them with the materials and resources they need to help children reach their potentials.

Learn from the Start™, our exclusive milestone-based curriculum, guides every experience, from sensory play to early language and motor skill building. The classroom is designed with everything teachers need at their fingertips, so they can stay by your baby’s side. Our Summer Camp program, Wondercamp, gives children a summer filled with discovery, creativity, and fun through hands-on activities, outdoor play, and engaging weekly themes. Spotlight on Spanish

¡Hola! We introduce conversational Spanish through stories, songs, and games, at an age when childrens brains are primed to learn a second language.
Ages: Preschool and up
Schedule: Twice a week for 30 minutes
Program Length: Four 10-week semesters (Children can enroll at the beginning of any semester)

Soccer

Goal! In this program, your child develops early soccer skills and learns about teamwork spending time on the field with friends.

We've had a wonderful experience with La Petite!! We were coming from a bad experience at a different daycare and were very nervous to try another but this school has been amazing! Our initial reason for even touring La Petite was that they had livestreaming available anytime that your child is checked in. This, especially at first, has been such a relief. I never have to wonder if he spent the whole day crying for me like almost every kid does at drop off. He's always fine 10 minutes later but I'd never know for sure without that livestream! They also document everything they eat and how much, if they use the restroom or get changed, have an accident, when they nap and wake and I think that's just so helpful! They do little crafts with the kids, celebrate their birthdays, have dress up and theme days. It's just a really fun place to be. Not to mention they have curriculums so they're teaching them too! My son has learned so much there. I'm always surprised by him. I appreciate this school so much!
