Welcome to Our School
Welcome to La Petite Academy in Lexington, KY. My name is Christa and I am the Academy Director. We offer infant care beginning at 6 weeks of age, as well as a full or part time preschool program focusing on kindergarten readiness and a school-age program for before and after school care and full time care during school breaks for children up to 12 years of age.
We are committed to continuing to make the health and safety of the children our top priority. We closely follow guidance from the CDC as well as local and state authorities to provide the safest and cleanest environment possible. We strive to ensure that we are operating in the safest possible fashion all while promoting a fun environment where children are able to learn and grow.
Parents can stay connected all day through our mobile app, brightwheel, which sends real-time photos and updates via text and email. We also offer the livestreaming WatchMeGrow camera system where you are able to view your child's activities in the classroom. Deployed, traveling or just plain busy parents will be able to see their child learn, play and grow every day, at no additional charge.
This year we are happy to announce the addition of The Prep Lab for our elementary school students. The program bridges potential learning gaps between schools years as well as keeping them on course during distance learning. The Prep Lab integrates key math and literacy skills that bring added excitement and education to fun, activity-based projects.
We are a 4 star rated Kentucky All Stars through the state of Kentucky. Our committed team of educators fosters children's growth, development and a lifelong love of learning!

I have a passion for working with children and the incredible teachers dedicated to the field of early childhood education. As director, I take pride in a school with qualified teachers and an incredible assessment-based curriculum while watching the children learn and grow.

Working with children has always been my passion. After teaching head start for two years, I decided to change directions and focus on helping and supporting teachers by providing them with the materials and resources they need to help children reach their potentials.

I have been with La Petite since 2003. During my time here I have worked in all age groups, but I find preschool the most rewarding. I enjoy using the curriculum and then implementing it to see the results and how much the children grow and develop.
