Welcome to La Petite Academy educational daycare of Lake in the Hills, IL, where we service families from Lake in the Hills, Huntley, Algonquin, Crystal Lake, Gilberts and other surrounding communities. My name is Melissa and I am the academy director. I have over 15 years of experience in early childhood education.
We offer Infant Care, Preschool and other early education programs. We have a curriculum that is designed to meet each child's developmental needs and goals and we also offer enrichment programs that emphasize health and nutrition. We are silver star rated with Excelrate Il, and Accredited by NECPA.
Our building uses a coded entry system and only prearranged adults may pick up children. You'll also love staying connected all day long through our mobile app for parents. Get real-time photos and updates of your child so you don't miss a moment.
I have a strong team of long-term, dedicated teachers with more than 100 years of combined experience. All of our staff goes through CPR and first aid certification, as well as ongoing monthly training.

In our Preschool and Pre-K classrooms your child will discover opportunities to be creative, engage their mind and body, collaborate with friends, and learn new things. Some enhancements in the classrooms include iPads with educational apps; flexible seating options so children can move as they learn; hands-on STEM activities with robots for early coding.

I have always had a passion for teaching young children and I have been fortunate enough to have been teaching for over 15 years now. Throughout my time in the early childhood field, I have developed a strong community of learners, and I strive to build that community among all of our families.

In the last six years, I have had the privilege of working with children and families in all sorts of settings, fulfilling a passion of mine. I am now fortunate enough to work with the staff, offering them support as they guide and care for your children.

In my 16 years of experience, I have worked with children of all ages from infants to school-agers. Currently, I am the Lead Teacher in our Preschool program. I love working with young children and helping them develop a love of learning, and supporting them in their own decision making.
