Welcome to Our School
Welcome to our La Petite Academy educational daycare in Jacksonville, FL. My name is Valerie and I am the academy director of this school that offers Infant Care, Preschool and other age-specific programs. I've been with the company for 10 years and have been in early childhood education for 24 years.
Our teachers here are outstanding. They love their jobs as well as the children in their care. All staff members participate in training opportunities throughout the year to stay current in the field of early childhood education.

Valerie Thompson, Director
Education: CDA, Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Bachelor's Degree in Social Work with a Minor in Sociology
Certifications: First Aid and CPR, 45 DCF Hours, Staff Credential
I was the center director at the U.S. Naval Base Child Development Center in Japan from 2000 to 2003 and then the U.S. Naval Base Boys and Girls Club director in Japan from 2005 to 2007. I have been with this company since 2008 and absolutely love working with children and families, each day.

I began my career as a teacher in 2007 and then became the assistant director at this company in 2012. Working in early childhood education is my true passion!
