Welcome to Our School

Welcome to La Petite Academy educational child care in Frederick, MD.

We are proud to be a NECPA-accredited school! Our center offers programs for children ages six weeks to 12 years old through our Infant Care, Preschool and School-Age programs.

Our teachers are loving, engaging and professional putting the needs of the children first. The average teacher has been here for eight years! Our teachers are CPR and First Aid certified and they participate in training opportunities throughout the year.

We pride ourselves on developing strong relationships with each one of our families. We encourage them to get involved by offering a number of special events including game nights, Parents' Night Out, and more.

Marian Thornton, Director

Education: A.A in Early Childhood Education

Certifications: CPR/AED/First Aid, CDA in Infants/Toddlers, 45 Hour School-Age, 45 Hour Preschool, 45 Hour Director Administration

I have worked with children in an educational capacity for over ten years and it is my passion to ensure that all children feel safe and have the opportunity to learn and thrive. I adore being able to make an impact as we are all shaping the future generation! Outside of work, I am working on continuing to further my education and spending any and all extra time with my family!

Education: A.A in Early Childhood Education

Certifications: CPR/First Aid, 90 Hour, Infant and Toddler and Group Leader

I have been working for Learning Care Group for 26 years. I'm very passionate about community outreach and early literacy. It is always such an honor to be able to watch families grow and children flourish!
