Welcome to Our School

Welcome to La Petite Academy educational daycare in Federal Way, WA!

Our newly remodeled school has new floors and playgrounds. We provide Infant and Toddler care, Preschool, Pre-Kindergarten and Junior Kindergarten along with various ancillary programs such as dance, soccer, Spanish, and music.

Safety and security are top priorities. We have new interior and exterior cameras to view our classrooms, playgrounds, lobby and entrances and each family is given their own personal access code to enter the building. We also require that every visitor or volunteer show their I.D. upon arrival.

Many of our teachers come to us with several years of experience and we provide annual training and education opportunities for all our staff.

Shannon Steele, Director

Education: Child Development Associate

Certifications: CPR/First Aid/Bloodborne Pathogens, Food Handler's, Driver Certified, and STARS Certified

I have been with La Petite Academy since 2011. I started as a Pre-K teacher, then I was promoted to Assistant Director and have been the Director here since 2013. I have worked with children for over 20 years here in the USA, London and Milan.

I joined the La Petite Academy team in 2016 and started as a teacher. I was promoted to Team Lead shortly after and I am now the Assistant Director. I am very fortunate to be in a strong team and work with people who share the same aspirations as myself, which is to nurture and educated children.
