Welcome to Our School

Welcome to La Petite Academy in Champaign, IL! La Petite Academy offers the best Infant Care and Private Preschool in the area. Our facility is NECPA-accredited and holds a Silver Circle of Quality in Illinois' ExceleRate program.

We have an updated school-age classroom including tablets with apps to create art, music and videos, an Xbox One with Kinect, tripods for moviemaking and more!

Our staff is trained in early childhood education and nearly all teachers hold a degree in education. Each staff member is CPR and first aid certified. They stay current with monthly training sessions and ongoing training opportunities offered by the state.

My favorite thing about La Petite is when I drop my son off in the morning and his teachers and the other kids shout his name and seems genuinely happy to see him. It makes me feel so good that he is welcomed so warmly in the mornings. Also, I love getting updates or hearing stories about his day when I come pick him up.

Our first priority is creating a secure environment where infants both are safe and feel safe. In our Infants classroom, we provide toys and materials that allow for freedom of movement within safe boundaries, so children can explore, develop motor skills, and engage their natural curiosity. Heidi Parker, Director

Education: M.Ed. University of Illinois; B.A. University of Illinois

Certifications: Illinois Director Credential, Level 1; Illinois ECE Credential Level 5; Illinois Type 04 Teaching Certification

I have been the academy director of La Petite in Champaign since 2009. I am also the mother of four children who are enrolled at La Petite! Having my children in my center with me has been the driving force of my success here in Champaign.

I have been with La Petite since 2015 and have been assistant director since 2016.
