Welcome to La Petite Academy educational daycare in Ankeny, IA. My name is Cherie, the school director, and I would like to take this opportunity to tell you about the Infant Care, Preschool programs and staff that make our school a special place for learning.
I have had many roles at the school including teacher, cook, associate center director and now, center director. I am very proud of my staff - we have two teachers on staff with over 15 years of experience. We also have another staff member with a CDA and two with their B.A.s in education.
I run this learning center like everyone involved is an extension of my own family. Our center has an inviting, home-like atmosphere and I maintain an open-door policy for anyone who would like to talk. We plan a lot of events for everyone to participate in and I work hard to ensure that families here in Ankeny meet each other and develop strong relationships.
Our school participates in the Quality Rating System through the state of Iowa. We are currently a Three Star center and have been serving all the elementary schools in the community for over 20 years
I invite you to come in for a tour and see what makes our La Petite Academy in Ankeny, IA so special.
For an additional fee, go beyond regular classroom learning experiences with our enhanced series of fun, interactive enrichment programs exploring a variety of activities. We offer:
Soccer, Music, Yoga, Spanish, Literacy
Certifications: NAC Credential, CPR/ First Aid
I have over 20 years of experience in early childhood education. I have been at La Petite since 2007 when I started as a Pre-K teacher. I find it exciting to see children learn and grow, every day.
Education: K-6 Elementary Teacher, K-12 English as a Second Language
It has been my privilege to work with many different ages and stages of children. I have taught 5th and 6th grade, tutored high school students and now I teach Pre-K. Pre-K is an exciting age because they are eager to learn. I enjoy watching them learn through play.
