My name is Alisha James and I am the Academy Director of La Petite Academy on S. Cliff Ave.
Our school offers infant care beginning at six weeks of age, as well as a full time preschool program focusing on kindergarten readiness.
Our committed team of educators fosters children's growth, development, and a lifelong love of learning! Teachers also participate in yearly training to stay up-to-date on best practices and child development.

Alisha James , Director
Education: Bachelors in Early Childhood Education from South Dakota State University, Special Education and Kindergarten Endorsement
I started my child care career in 2010, while I was attending college at South Dakota State University. I have served as an assistant teacher, lead teacher, assistant director, program planner, and now director. I truly enjoy working with children and their families as every day is different! I love watching the children grow and see everything they learn throughout the years at the center!

I have been working in childcare since 2013. I have also worked as a nanny, preschool teacher, and as a personnel manager. In this role, I love that I am able to watch children learn and discover new things!
