Welcome to Our School
Welcome to our La Petite Academy in San Antonio, TX. My name is Amanda Balderrama and I'm the director of this school. I have my CDA, a nationally recognized credential, and 10 years of experience in child care. I enjoy working with children and watching them grow and develop in all of our wonderful programs.

Amanda Balderrama, Director
Education: Child Development Associate, Nationally Recognized Credential
Certifications: Pediatric First Aid/CPR, Bus Driver Certified
My goal as the Director is to provide a loving, educational environment that meets the needs of our children and families. I have a passion for early childhood education and love being a part of a child's growth and development at every age level. I started as an infant assistant teacher and branched out to management to make an impact on the entire school. In my free time, I love spending time with my daughter and traveling to new places.

Christy Witherspoon, Assistant Director
Education: B.A. in Applied Developmental Science, A.A. in Social & Behavioral Science, A.A. in Child Development, & A.A. in STEM
Certifications: Pediatric CPR & First Aid Certified, Bus Driver Certified, & Site Supervisor Certified by California Commission on Teacher Credentialing
I have over 12 years experience as an assistant teacher, lead teacher, and director in the Child Development Field. I attended California State University Northridge, where I obtained my bachelor's degree in applied developmental science in 2015. I love watching children grow and learn through play. I am deeply passionate about creating learning opportunities for children. I enjoy taking trips to Disneyland and spending time with my niece and three nephews whenever possible.

I am very proud to be a part of this marvelous team. I started out as a teacher then quickly moved to a lead teacher and then to assistant director. I have over 14 years of early childhood experience. I have two children of my own and a great love for working with small children.
