Thank you for visiting La Petite Academy educational child care facility in Birmingham, AL. My name is Jennie and I am the current school director.

Our center offers Infant through school age programs along with extracurricular activities. We strive to create a warm and welcoming environment for the children, parents, and teachers.

The staff at our location are outstanding. Together, they have years of experience in early childhood education. We focus on safety, quality care, and education to give the children in our center an experience that meets the cognitive, social, and nutritional needs of all of our students. We provide group care while scaffolding individual experiences to meet the varying needs of each child.

Jennie Thompson, Director

Education: Masters in Education

I have been working in child care as a director for 15+ years. I worked at a corporate child care in Detroit Michigan before moving to Alabama to work for La Petite. I love reading and spending time with my German Shepherd dogs. I am passionate about working with children and helping children develop and a positive educational experience.
