For 20 years, we’ve been a proud partner of the New Mexico Pre-Kindergarten Initiative. This FREE program runs throughout the public school year.

Be assured your child will be prepared for that big step into kindergarten! Our passionate, experienced educators are early childhood experts with a proven track record of giving children a strong foundation for elementary school.

Here’s what you need to know:

  • Healthy breakfast and lunch provided every day, plus snacks in our full-day programs
  • Program begins at 8:00 a.m. on school mornings (end times vary by specific school)
  • Extended morning and afternoon hours are available to fit your family’s schedule
  • Limited holiday closings: Stay for school breaks and all summer long
  • Portfolios and family-teacher conferences three times per year let you see your child’s progress
  • Select schools also offer Early PreK, for 3-year-olds

How do I start?

Ready to go? Schedule a tour at your preferred La Petite Academy location and our school director will help you through the process of enrolling.

Am I eligible? The eligibility requirements include:

  • Proof of age eligibility (3 years old for Early PreK and 4 years old for PreK, on or before September 1)
  • Up-to-date immunizations (or religious exemption) must be on file

What kind of curriculum is taught?

Our curriculum is approved through New Mexico for PreK instruction. We’re proud to offer a STEM-inspired curriculum which integrates the core principles of science, technology, engineering, and math throughout classroom areas and daily routines.

What are the program hours?

Program hours do vary, but they typically begin at 8 a.m. and end at 2:30 or 4:00 p.m. depending on the school (There are exceptions, please see your school director for details.)

Yes! Our schools offer dedicated classrooms for the Early PreK and PreK programs, with a low teacher-to-child ratio and the opportunity for personalized learning experiences.
