La Petite Academy of Shawnee

Welcome to La Petite Academy in Shawnee, KS. My name is Kim and I am the academy director. I have been in the child care field for over 15 years. I have my associate degree in elementary education.

While we navigate through the new safety procedures here at La Petite, you will see many changes and upgrades to our current service! Daily health screenings including temp checks, face coverings for teachers, essential hand washing practices, and deep cleaning and sanitation are being completed to keep everyone healthy. We are also practicing social distancing by a member of management getting your child from the classroom.

Each of our programs – including Infant Care, Preschool and more – has a unique curriculum tailored to each individual child that allows them to learn at their own pace while enjoying the enhanced curriculum. Our STEM curriculum allows each student to dig deeper into science, technology, engineering and math. STEM makes connections between diverse skills and concepts which are the framework for 21st century learning.

Our Prep Lab experience has been catered specifically for grade level children to help progress the educational learning while we flatten the curve of COVID-19! Literacy and Math are strongly instructed to help ready each child to a strong return to elementary education while also blending fun and exciting summer enhancements.

With our new safety procedures and social distancing policies, we have also created a link between classroom and family, kicking off WatchMeGrow - a live streaming application that allows you a birds eye view into your child's educational day through a secure streaming network at no additional cost.

We are accepting full-time and part-time students, allowing families a variety of options as we create a new normal within our community.
