Welcome to La Petite Academy in Pelham-Alabaster, AL! This facility opened in 1988 with the goal of providing the best early education for families in the Shelby County area. We are an Alabama Quality rated school. We service all surrounding areas including Helena, Alabaster and Calera!

Our facility is a leader in early education, providing programs for Infants and Preschoolers through School-Age children. Our teachers are highly trained and personally get to know and understand each child, to recognize their strengths, skill levels, and areas for improvements.

Education: Early Childhood Education, Social Work

Certifications: CDA, First Aid and Child Care Safety Management

I have been with the Learning Care Group for 20 years. I was awarded the people Leadership Award in 2016 and the Above and Beyond award in 2018. I was awarded the Educational Excellence Awarded for 2023. I have three wonderful sons all which have attended La Petite Academy. I have been married to my wonderful husband for 21 years. I enjoy traveling and spending time with my family.

Shardonay Jenkins, Assistant Director

Education: Early Childhood Education

Certifications: CDA, CPR and First Aid, District Safety Captain

I have been with the Learning Care Group for nine years. I was named 2019 Teacher of the Year for the District of Alabama. In my spare time I enjoy playing professional women's football, hiking, power lifting and traveling. I look forward to welcoming you and our family to our center soon!
