Welcome to Our School
We’re so glad you’re considering joining our school family. At La Petite, we offer a warm, nurturing environment where children from infancy through early childhood can learn, grow, and thrive. Our age-appropriate programs include Infant Care, Preschool, and more — each thoughtfully designed to support every stage of early development.
Our passionate and experienced educators are truly the heart of our school. Together, our team brings over 50 years of combined experience in early childhood education. All staff members hold North Carolina Early Childhood Credentials, are certified in CPR and First Aid, and many are actively pursuing degrees in early education. Our Infant teachers and leadership team are also trained in SIDS prevention to ensure the highest level of safety for our littlest learners.
We want every family to feel like this is their second home — a place where your child is loved, supported, and encouraged every single day. That sense of trust and belonging is at the core of everything we do.
We also believe in continuous growth — for both children and educators. That’s why our teachers regularly participate in professional development and training throughout the year, staying up to date on best practices in early learning and care.

Kimberly Knowlton , Director
Education: Bachelor of Science in Middle School Education and Business Administration
Certifications: North Carolina Early Education Credentials. CPR/First Aid, SIDS, Playground Safety, and EPR
Ms. Kim is the Director at La Petite Pleasant Pines with 10 years of experience in early childhood education. She holds a bachelor's in Middle Grades Education, NC Early Education credentials, and is a Level III Administrator. Starting as an infant teacher, she joined the center in 2017 and became Assistant Director in 2021. Ms. Kim is passionate about early education as the foundation for every child's success.

Education: Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education
Certifications: North Carolina Early Childhood Credentials. CPR/First Aid, SIDS, Playground Safety, BSAC, and MVR
Tarika Mason is the Assistant Director at La Petite with over 30 years of experience working with children and families in North Carolina. Tarika finds daily inspiration in being part of each child’s first school experience, helping to create a joyful and nurturing learning environment.

Cassandra Davies, Team Lead
Education: Bachelor's of Arts in French
Certifications: North Carolina Early Education Credentials, Playground Safety, CPR/First Aid, and SIDS
Ms. Cassandra is our Team Lead and Early Preschool Teacher, bringing over 20 years of experience in early childhood education. She is passionate about supporting children as they build strong foundations at every stage of development. With her dedication and leadership, she creates a nurturing, engaging classroom environment. Ms. Cassandra looks forward to welcoming you and your child!
