Welcome to our nationally-accredited La Petite Academy educational daycare and preschool in Mesa, AZ!

Our school offers Infant and Toddler Care, Preschool, Pre-Kindergarten and After-School Clubs. Currently, we transport to Superstition Springs Elementary, Boulder Creek Elementary, Townes Elementary and Noah Webster Charter School.

Hi! My name is Jena Mercado. I grew up in a military family. I moved to Arizona from Florida 21 years ago. I am married, have three grown children and five grandchildren. I have worked in early education for 29 years. I have been blessed to be part of this amazing company for the past four years. My passion is working with children and being a part of their everyday learning experience. I am grateful for the opportunity to be here and can't wait to see more children join our La Petite Family!

Jordan Flaherty, Assistant Director

Education: Elementary Education

Hi, I’m Jordan Flaherty! I’m originally from New Hampshire, but I moved to Arizona about 10 years ago and now have two wonderful boys, Edward and Bentley. I’ve worked in child care since 2017 with children of all ages, and I’m so excited to be part of this company. I’m currently working toward my BA in Elementary Education. I look forward to welcoming your family into the La Petite family!

Each day at La Petite Academy is filled with opportunities for your child to learn, play, explore, and grow. Children explore learning centers, participate in small- and large-group activities, spend time outdoors, and enjoy plenty of opportunities for choice and play. Meals, snacks, and rest are also built into the day, creating a familiar routine that helps children feel comfortable while keeping each day fun and engaging. Daily activities are designed with your child’s age and developmental stage in mind.

Our teachers regularly observe your child’s development and use those insights to plan learning experiences that support their individual needs and growth. Each child has an individual portfolio that grows with them as they move from one age group to the next, capturing their learning, milestones, and accomplishments along the way. Teachers use developmental checklists, work samples, photos, and observations to understand how your child is progressing and identify opportunities to build new skills. Families stay connected every step of the way through SproutAbout updates, family-teacher conferences, and daily conversations with their child’s teachers.

Moving to a new classroom is an exciting milestone. Children gradually visit their new classroom, meet their teachers, and become familiar with new routines before the transition. Teachers work together to support continuity, while families receive regular updates throughout the process.
