Welcome to Our School

Welcome to La Petite Academy of Spring Ridge in Frederick, MD! We are proud to provide a warm, engaging, and nurturing environment where children feel safe, supported, and excited to learn each day.

Our dedicated educators bring experience, passion, and a commitment to helping every child thrive. We believe in continuous growth, which is why our team participates in ongoing professional development and training in early childhood education.

From our youngest learners to our School-Age students, we offer programs designed to support children at every stage of learning and development, including Infant, Toddler, Twos, Preschool, Pre-K, and Before & After School programs, as well as Summer Camp. Through hands-on activities, creative projects, and engaging learning experiences, children have opportunities to explore their interests, build new skills, and grow in confidence.

We also believe that strong families make a strong school community. Throughout the year, we host family events, special activities, and community outreach opportunities that bring families, children, and educators together.

Your child’s safety and your peace of mind are always a priority. We work hard to maintain a secure, welcoming environment while keeping families connected throughout the day through SproutAbout, our family communication app.

We are proud to offer the convenience of freshly prepared meals, diapers, and wipes as part of our commitment to making life a little easier for our families.

Most importantly, we want every family who walks through our doors to feel like part of our La Petite family. We look forward to getting to know you, partnering with you, and watching your child learn, grow, and shine!

Wonderful. As a parent it is nice to feel like staff cares and makes an effort to respect your wishes and address concerns. Staff is very friendly and actively engaged with the children.

The staff and Lisa, the director, are amazing. Lisa makes herself so available for my questions and the things our family needs. She is genuinely working to provide a place for our children to learn and develop (community outreach in November, Halloween reading challenge, halloween trunk or treat event, center leadership and parents meeting, to name a few that recently occurred). Overall we continue

La Petite is a nurturing, family friendly, and environment. My kids love going there and I have peace of mind while at work. The teachers communicate daily using the brightwheel app so I know how my kids are doing. The director is very involved and follows through with her actions.

The director and all of the teachers care a great deal about the kids. The staff is routinely building a strong sense of community, making improvements around the facility, getting the parents involved, and overall putting a great deal of time and effort to make this a great place for the kids and a place where parents are comfortable leaving their children in their care. Each day at La Petite Academy is filled with opportunities for your child to learn, play, explore, and grow. Children explore learning centers, participate in small- and large-group activities, spend time outdoors, and enjoy plenty of opportunities for choice and play. Meals, snacks, and rest are also built into the day, creating a familiar routine that helps children feel comfortable while keeping each day fun and engaging. Daily activities are designed with your child’s age and developmental stage in mind.

Our teachers regularly observe your child’s development and use those insights to plan learning experiences that support their individual needs and growth. Each child has an individual portfolio that grows with them as they move from one age group to the next, capturing their learning, milestones, and accomplishments along the way. Teachers use developmental checklists, work samples, photos, and observations to understand how your child is progressing and identify opportunities to build new skills. Families stay connected every step of the way through SproutAbout updates, family-teacher conferences, and daily conversations with their child’s teachers.

Moving to a new classroom is an exciting milestone. Children gradually visit their new classroom, meet their teachers, and become familiar with new routines before the transition. Teachers work together to support continuity, while families receive regular updates throughout the process.
