Welcome to our nationally accredited La Petite Academy, a daycare and preschool in Papillion, NE! We’re committed to creating a safe, welcoming environment where children feel supported, cared for, and excited to learn.

Our school offers programs for different stages of early learning, including Infants, Toddlers, Early Preschool, Preschool, Pre-K, Junior Kindergarten, and Summer Camp. Each program provides age-appropriate learning experiences designed to help children explore, build confidence, develop independence, and prepare for what comes next.

Tracy Goodell, Director

Education: University of Missouri-St. Louis - Psychology

Certifications: CPR and First Aid

For the past 25 years I have been blessed to work in a field that offers me the opportunity to make a difference in the the lives of children and their families. I am also lucky enough to work with many talented early childhood professionals that create educational and meaningful experiences in our school every day.

Erica Holz, Assistant Director

Education: Dana College - B.A. in Psychology, minor in Sociology

Certifications: CDA credential, CPR and First Aid

I have been in early childhood for 20 years! At La Petite I have progressed from an assistant teacher all the way to my current position as program assistant director. In 2014 our team earned NECPA accreditation! I enjoy assisting our staff on a daily basis and watching the children grow and experience new things every day.

Michael Devlin, Team Lead

Education: University of Nebraska-Omaha - B.A. in Elementary Education

Certifications: CDA credential, CPR & First Aid

After receiving my degree, I spent a few years substitute teaching in the Papillion-La Vista and Bellevue school districts. As a lead teacher at La Petite, I was promoted to the team lead management position in 2012. I was awarded Teacher of the Year in 2013 and again in 2021. As a part of my continuing dedication to early childhood education, I earned my CDA early childhood endorsement in 2014.

I have worked as an assistant teacher and a lead teacher with a variety of age groups. I earned my CDA credential in 2015. I have also achieved my associate's degree in early childhood education.

Each day at La Petite Academy is filled with opportunities for your child to learn, play, explore, and grow. Children explore learning centers, participate in small- and large-group activities, spend time outdoors, and enjoy plenty of opportunities for choice and play. Meals, snacks, and rest are also built into the day, creating a familiar routine that helps children feel comfortable while keeping each day fun and engaging. Daily activities are designed with your child’s age and developmental stage in mind.

Our teachers regularly observe your child’s development and use those insights to plan learning experiences that support their individual needs and growth. Each child has an individual portfolio that grows with them as they move from one age group to the next, capturing their learning, milestones, and accomplishments along the way. Teachers use developmental checklists, work samples, photos, and observations to understand how your child is progressing and identify opportunities to build new skills. Families stay connected every step of the way through SproutAbout updates, family-teacher conferences, and daily conversations with their child’s teachers.

Moving to a new classroom is an exciting milestone. Children gradually visit their new classroom, meet their teachers, and become familiar with new routines before the transition. Teachers work together to support continuity, while families receive regular updates throughout the process.
