Welcome to Our School

Welcome to La Petite Academy child care center in San Antonio, TX! My name is Lorraine Herrera and I am the academy director. I have 27 years of experience working in the child care profession and during all these years I have acquired experience in the classroom as a teacher, Team Lead, and in management.

We offer Infant Care, Preschool and other age-appropriate programs that will help your child as they approach and accomplish their developmental milestones. Our hands-on curriculum enhances their academic skills while daily interaction with other children develops their social skills.

Our highly qualified staff has over 2,500 hours of child development experience which they implement in their daily curriculum. The staff and I strive to build a relationship with each family which encourages parents to play an active role in their child's development.

Lorraine Herrera, Director

Education: Working towards my Bachelors in Child Psychology

Certifications: TSR Certified, CPR & First Aid

I have been with La Petite Academy for 27 years, and still learning something new everyday. I enjoy working with the families and team of teachers on a daily basis. My passion is creating and implementing well rounded, fun and educational lesson plans for all ages. I am proud to be part of a NECPA Accredited school, and maintaining a safe and healthy learning environment.

Education: Associate's Degree in Child Development

After receiving my associate's degree in child development, I started my journey in child care. I am proud to say that I have 35 years of experience in this field and I take pride in working with families and their children. I am also grateful to my parents and spouse who have supported me.
