Welcome to Our School

Welcome to La Petite Academy daycare and preschool in Rio Rancho, NM. We are located across the street from Rio Rancho Police Department on Quantum Road. My name is Marge Hall and I am the director of this school. I have a CDA, a NAC certificate and more than 27 years of experience in teaching and management.

We offer Infant and Toddler Care, Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten programs. We also offer Before- and After-School care for School-Age children. Our school is nationally accredited by the National Early Childhood Program Accreditation and we also hold a 5-STAR license from the State of New Mexico.

All teachers receive monthly training as well as ongoing training provided by the state. We have several CDA-certified teachers and all staff must clear a thorough background check. We have a keypad entry system and only staff and families with secure codes can enter our building without staff assistance.

Sofia Valdez, Director

Education: Associate Degree in Multicultural Early Childhood Education with Honors

Certifications: First Aid & CPR, Child Development Associate, National Administrator's Credential and Seven Basic Competencies of Early Learning 45 Hour

I have been with La Petite for 25 years and love working with families and providing quality early education to the children in our community. I am a parent of four children who all have grown up with the early education of La Petite. I have recently completed my Associate Degree in Multicultural Early Childhood Education and consider myself a life long learner. I am passionate about working with children and mentoring teachers to be the best version of themselves.

I have 20+ years of experience working with children, and have been with La Petite for 20 years. It is my passion to provide safe, quality care for children. I enjoy watching children grow and utilize their skills taught through our programs.

I have been in the early childhood education field for 20+ years and have worked with children aged 6 weeks to 12 years old. I have a passion to work with toddler aged children because I enjoy watching them develop their personality and I want to give them the best start to their education.
