Welcome to Our School

Welcome to La Petite Academy of Pleasant Pines! Our school offers Infant Care, Preschool and other age-appropriate programs.

Our staff has more than 50 years of combined experience. Additionally, they have their North Carolina Credentials, are certified in CPR/First Aid, and are working towards various degrees in early childhood education. Infant teachers and management have also completed a SIDS class. Throughout the year, our staff participates in professional training conferences.

Meet Our Staff

Samantha Smith, Director

Education: BA Early Childhood Administration

Mrs. Sam is the Director at La Petite Academy at Pleasant Pines. She has her Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Administration and has worked in childcare field for 27 years. She has worked with all age groups and been an Administrator for the last six years. She loves building long lasting relationships with her families and watching the children grow.

Kimberly Knowlton, Assistant Director

Education: Bachelor's of Science in Middle School Education

Ms. Kim is the assistant director at La Petite Pleasant Pines. She has a bachelor's degree in Middle Grades Education along with my NC early education credentials. She is also a Level III administrator. She has been in childcare for seven years, beginning her career as an infant teacher. She came to the center in 2017 and worked her way up to assistant director in January 2021. She believes early childhood education is the foundation for all children to be their best possible self.

Cassandra Davies, Team Lead

Education: Bachelor's of Arts in French

Ms. Cassandra has worked in childcare for over 20 years. She is dedicated and devoted in making sure each child has developed strong learning skills in each stage of development.
