Welcome to Our School

Thank you for visiting La Petite Academy educational daycare in Lawrence, KS! My name is Sydney and I am the director. I have a bachelor's degree in Developmental Psychology, a Master's Degree in Educational Psychology, and an Education Specialist Degree in School Psychology. I have spent the majority of my professional career in the field of special education with in nine years of experience as an educator and manager.

We as a team, management and teachers, strive to create a welcoming environment for all families. We conduct parent teacher conferences throughout the year to maintain close communication about your child’s education. We have an open-door policy to ensure all your needs and questions are answered.

Our teachers have a passion for teaching and bring many years of experience to the school. We are fortunate to have an outstanding staff dedicated to children and families. More than half of our teachers have over five years of teaching experience. All of our teacher's receive monthly training as well as ongoing training provided by the state.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Developmental Psychology, a Master's Degree in Educational Psychology, and an Education Specialist Degree in School Psychology.

Certifications: First Aid and CPR, School Psychologist, Kansas Child Care Center Director

I have always had a passion for education and childcare. I began my career in the field of education in 2019 and continued to pursue my own educational goals by obtaining a master's and Education Specialist degree in Educational Psychology. I have a passion for understanding the function of behavior and the different approaches/techniques of learning. Children are constantly learning and absorbing information in the world around them, it is our job to enhance these opportunities.
