Welcome to Our School

Welcome to La Petite Academy, an educational early learning center in Homer Glen, IL. Our academy provides exceptional child care and early childhood education through our Infant, Toddler, Early Preschool, Preschool, Pre-Kindergarten and School Age programs.

My name is Valerie and I am the center director. I have my degree in early childhood education and have been working in child care for over 20 years. Together, with my talented team of professionals, we will strive to help make lasting memories and aim to build a great foundation of learning.

All of our dedicated teachers take great pride in providing a range of opportunities for children to explore, learn, and grow while adhering to the highest standards of excellence and care. Together, our teachers have more than 200 years of experience in early childhood education.

I feel like all the staff, including those not directly interacting with my child, take a general interest in his well being and education. They have a great staff and always go out of their way to make the day special and fun for the kids. They also take the time to help the children develop their skills with structure and learning being a key component at this school.

We LOVE this school! We started bringing our daughter here when she was 9 months old and she is now 3 years old. As she progressed from the infant room to the toddler room to the early preschool room, I can confidently say that ALL the teachers are very empathetic, caring and nurturing. They are my daughter's second 'mommies' and it is comforting to know that she is in good care when I need to work.

The teachers at LaPetite are amazing and are helping my son grow and learn the social skills he can't be taught at home. Only being here a couple months, I can already see, he is learning new skills and words every day. The teacher to child interaction is important and all the teachers at LaPetite go above and beyond with each child and help them individually with any educational/behavioral skills

or empathy needed. The staff is also very friendly and interactive and seems to know what's going on with each child. This is a great place for children to learn and grow while being nurtured and having fun!

As the director, I take pride in building a strong sense of community both inside and outside our school, partnering with parents and teachers to ensure lifelong learning. I always had a passion for working with children. I love being a part of a child's growth and development at every age level.

I have always had a passion for children's education. As team lead, my focus is to support teachers and help them reach their potentials by providing them the resources they need. My kids are very involved in sports, so you will often find me watching or volunteering for all their events!
