Welcome to Our School

Welcome to La Petite Academy, a nationally accredited early learning center in Hockessin, DE. My name is Randi Racan, and I am your Center Director. Our amazing childcare center has been staple of the Hockessin Community since 1994. I am proud to share that I have been a part of this educational family for over 16 years.

We offer an academic and nurturing experience for Infants as young as six weeks old continuing up through our Pre-Kindergarten program. We also provide Before- and After-School care for North Star Elementary and a fun filled summer camp program.

Our dedicated and long-term staff encourage and cultivate positive learning experiences for all children through our individualized curriculum. Our teachers participate in professional development throughout the year to stay current in the field of early childhood education as well as offer the most engaging experiences for your little ones.

Our facility is kept safe and secure using a locked entry system as well as security cameras throughout the building and exterior of our school. You will have access to the cameras in your child's classroom as well! Only staff and enrolled families may enter using their unique security code. Visitors must be approved by the administrative staff and provide ID before entering.

Randi Racan, Director

Education: A.A. from Wilmington University with a focus in ECE; Studied Psychology at the University of Delaware

Certifications: DOE Administrative Certificate, First Aid and CPR, DOE Specialization in Infants, Toddlers and Administration

It's an amazing opportunity to work with children and their families every day at La Petite Academy! I have been with the Learning Care Group for over 16 years and love being a part of an organization that exemplifies the highest standards of quality childcare. I have two daughters who have graduated from our program and now a Toddler son who attends. I appreciate the level of care, love and communication the teachers provide my family with each day. I am so proud to be a part of the LPA family.

Education: Bachelor's Degree

Ms. Lauren is our Team Lead as well as our Early Preschool Teacher. Her upbeat attitude and warm teacher child interactions prove her to be an amazing part of our LPA team.
