Welcome to Our School

Welcome to La Petite Academy in Glen Carbon, IL where we provide education-based care with extended hours for the working family! My name is Carrie and I am the academy director. I have been working in early childhood education as a teacher and manager for over five years. I have my master's degree in social work from Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville with a focus on child and family practice.

Our school offers Infant and Toddler Care, Private Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten. We are accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children and have also been awarded a Gold Circle of Quality from ExceleRate Illinois.

We have an outstanding and diverse faculty here in Glen Carbon. Our lead teachers have education-related degrees and our assistant teachers are pursuing education degrees or have multiple years of early childhood experience. Ongoing annual training is provided for all team members and our entire staff has pediatric, child and adult CPR/First Aid certifications.

I always knew that I wanted to work with children. While receiving my education, I found that my passion was in providing education to all children as early as possible. I love meeting and talking with all of my families and strive to create a community among the staff and family within our school.

My passion for children started at a very young age. My goal is to apply my knowledge and hands-on skills to La Petite, as I am very grateful for this opportunity.
