Welcome to Our School

Welcome to La Petite Academy, an educational childcare center located in Gambrills, Maryland! My name is Anithia and I am the academy director. I have completed coursework and gained experience in Early Childhood Education, hold a bachelor's degree in Psychology, and am currently pursuing my Master of Education in School Counseling. I have been working in the education field for almost a decade and have over four years of administrative experience as a director.

Our school provides a range of programs for children including Infant, Toddler, Twos, Preschool, Pre-K, Junior K and School-Age programs. We are proud to be accredited by the National Early Childhood Program Accreditation (NECPA) and to be in partnership with Maryland Excels.

At La Petite Academy of Gambrills, we have a dedicated team of teachers, many of whom have been with us for over five years. Some of our staff have even been with the center for more than 20 years. All of our teachers are First Aid and CPR certified and receive ongoing monthly training. Additionally, several of our staff are trained in medication administration.

We understand that it can be difficult to leave your child in the care of someone else, which is why we are committed to keeping you connected throughout the day. Welcome to La Petite Academy in Gambrills, MD. My name is Xiomarys, I am the assistant director at this location. I have worked in the early childhood field since 2014. I was a teacher in early childhood for six years, and an assistant director for three years. I joined La Petite Academy February of 2024. I am excited to see your little one grow while helping them meet their developmental milestones!

Education: Philosophy and Early Childhood Education

Certifications: 45HR Growth & Development, Medication Admin/CPR/First Aid Certified

Serving as Admin Assistant since June 2022, Collin Young strives to use his leadership and problem-solving skills to support and bolster the hard-working staff at La Petite. With Certifications in First Aid/CPR and Medical Administration, he also serves as the Safety Captain charged with upholding the safety and well-being of his students and fellow staff-members.

Lisa Dauer, Team Lead

Certifications: Teacher/Director Qualified (All Ages) Medication Admin/CPR/First Aid Certified

As a Team Lead, Lisa Dauer boasts extensive education in multiple areas including coaching and counseling, infants and toddlers, Preschool & Pre-Kindergarten, and School Age. Additionally, she has obtained certifications in CPR/First Aid, Medication Administration, and ADA. Since 2019, Lisa has been dedicated to her profession, striving to instill a passion for learning in every child she interacts with as Team Lead at La Petite.
