Welcome to Our School

Welcome to La Petite Academy educational daycare in Des Moines, IA! My name is Jenny Snyder and I am the academy director. I have been with La Petite since 1988 and have been the academy director since 1991. I currently hold the National Administrator Director Credential, as well as member of the Iowa Association of Young Children.

In addition to providing superior local child care, our Preschool program offers the best early childhood education in the Des Moines community. Our school currently participates in the Quality Rating System in Iowa, as well as the CACFP Federal Food Program.

I view all families here as an extension of my own and I strive to create a warm and welcoming environment. I have a great team that is experienced and dedicated to our families. At the end of 2023, our school held six dedication plaques for teachers who have served more than 20 years, including myself!

I believe a successful early childhood education is the stepping stone to elementary education. I take pride in my teaching teams and the quality care they provide. Both of my daughters attended La Petite Academy, and were very prepared educationally and socially for kindergarten.

I have over 30 years of experience and love all the relationships I have developed with the families over the years. The growth of the children from the beginning of the school year to Pre-Kindergarten graduation is amazing. I am proud of the teachers I work with and their desire to have a positive impact on the lives of the kiddos in our school.
