Welcome to Our School

I'm ecstatic to welcome you to a great school year and to La Petite Academy educational child care in Charlotte, NC! My name is Jambee Thomas and I am the Academy Director. I have an associate's degree in early childhood education and a Bachelor of Arts degree in early childhood administration. I am a Level III Administrator.

Here at La Petite Academy, we enroll children six weeks to twelve years old. Our Infant, Toddler, Preschool, Pre-K, and School-Age programs provide the perfect foundation for learning and development. We offer an array of programs within our classrooms! We also have monthly parent outreach events, allowing families to get to know their child's teacher as well as other families.

Our staff enjoy building positive relationships with each family which ensures that each child has a positive learning environment. Most of our teachers have been employed with La Petite from two to 16 years.

My grandchild attends here and I love it. The front office and very clean and welcoming since the new director came aboard. My grandchild is in the preschool room with Ms Latoy and is learning a lot. Education: Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education; Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Administration

Certifications: CPR & First Aid, ITS-SIDS, Playground Safety, Pro-Solutions, ECERS & ITERS Training, BSAC

I am a Level III Administrator and in the Director Leadership Academy program with Child Care Resources, Inc. I enjoy working with children and families. My goal is to make a difference in the lives of each child, build lasting relationships with families, and have an impact in the early childhood community.

Kaima Montoro, Assistant Director

Education: Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education

My name is Yanzawolo Kaima Montoro. I started working at La Petite in May of 2018. I have an Associate’s Degree in ECE with a specialization certification in Administration from Central Piedmont College, along with an Associate Degree in Healthcare Administration from Phoenix University. Currently, I am enrolled at the University of North Carolina Greensboro working towards a Bachelor Degree in Human Development and Family Studies with a license to teach birth through kindergarten.
