Welcome to Our School

Welcome to La Petite Academy educational daycare in Towson, MD! Our school is located on the campus of Greater Baltimore Medical Center in the heart of Towson. We are just minutes away from Towson University, downtown Towson, and the hospitals in the Towson area.

Our school - including daycare for Infants, Preschool programs and more - is nationally accredited by the National Early Childhood Program Accreditation. We opened in 1989 and have many long-tenured teachers who create a true family environment. All of our staff have over 150 years of experience!

Sherrett Jacobs, Director

Education: M.ED in Early Childhood Education, BA in Early Childhood Education

Certifications: First Aid/CPR Certified Instructor, Director workshop

Warm greetings, it's an absolute pleasure to lead this school. I've been in the field for over two decades and am extremely passionate about quality programming at an early age. Children naturally gravitate to me and I treat all of them as if their my own. It brings me immense joy to see them grow and thrive in safe and nurturing environments.

Hello my name is Ms. Arizbeth, and I am the assistant director at La Petite Academy Child Care Center at GBMC. I have been working at the Towson location since 2020. I have been working in the early childhood education field for six years. My favorite thing about working in early childhood education is being able to watch each child reach their milestones and being able to make lifelong connections with their families!

Hi! I’m Tyshae, the Assistant Director here at La Petite Child Care Center at GBMC. I graduated high school as a certified lead teacher by the state of Maryland in 2019 and have been working in childcare since. I started here at La Petite as a lead teacher in 2021 and then transitioned to Team Lead and now Assistant Director. My long term goal is to become a pediatric nurse or OB nurse. I’m currently enrolled in school to obtain my degree. Until then, I will continue my commitment to the growth

Education: Baltimore City Community College

Hello, my name is Ms. LaShonda Edmonds I've been in the childcare field for 24 years. I'm currently attending Baltimore City Community College to receive my AA degree in Early Childhood Education. However, I do have my 90 hours in ECE , 9 hour communication, 45 infant and toddler, 45 school age, 45 director administration and CPR and first aide. I also have over 300 hours in Early Childhood Education. My passion is working with children children of all ages.
