Welcome to Our School

Welcome to La Petite Academy educational daycare in Raleigh, NC!

Our school has state-of-the-art technology, classrooms and playgrounds. We offer Infant Care, and a STEM-based curriculum for Preschool, Pre-Kindergarten and other age-specific programs.

Our staff has more than 90 years of combined experience and they each have their North Carolina Credentials, are certified in CPR/First Aid and are working towards various degrees in early education. Infant teachers and management also have completed an ITS-SIDS training class and they renew every three years. Throughout the year, our staff participates in professional training conferences.

Patrice Foster , Director

Education: Early Childhood Education Certification & Business Administration (Currently Attending)

Certifications: CPR/First Aid, SIDS, BSAC, EPR, Playground Safety

Providing a safe place for children to grow, learn, and discover has always been a passion of mine. Children are constantly learning and developing every day, and it gives me great joy to be a part of this milestone in your child's life. I started teaching in 2013 and immediately fell in love with the endless ways you can captivate a child and expand their learning through play, conversations, and showing up every day, putting your best foot forward.

Amber Shepherd, Associate Director

Education: Currently pursuing a Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education

Certifications: CPR/First Aid, SIDS, Playground Safety, BSAC

I began my journey with children at a young age as I welcomed siblings a decade after my birth. From there, I transitioned into the hospitality industry until I became a parent. Since becoming a parent, I have run in-home childcare settings in two states and ultimately decided to return to school to further my education in early childhood and join the childcare center workforce. Learning how a child's mind works and laying the foundation for their journey of growth lights up my world.
