Welcome to our La Petite Academy Preschool and child care center in Columbia, SC! My name is Dianne Joel and I am the director. I have been with La Petite for 36 years, 33 years as the director! All of our teachers are CPR and First Aid certified and they receive yearly continuous educational training.

La Petite Academy leads the child care industry worldwide, with new innovations and technology for the future. We are always focusing on the future of our children, so we can provide an enriched environment that promotes learning and the development of the whole child.

I was greeted very well with a tour and met the teacher. As a first time mom and one who have already had bad experiences with a childcare facility, I was very concerned. I wanted to trust. As I was talking to the director and staff and seeing the smiling faces of parents and kids around the facility, I was relieved. My baby was about four months entering the school. She seemed happy when picked up.

As she grew to one year old, she still seem happy and she waves goodbye to all who smiles at her. Even some older children tells her bye and she acknowledges them. The staff seems to listen to me and calms my anxiety down as I am a first time mom. So, I am more than happy to have my son (I’m pregnant with my son now) to go to the school with his older sister. I’m looking forward with my future with this school.

I have 43 years of experience in early childhood education in a public school setting. I've dedicated over 40 years to the well-being of children, families, and teachers. I truly believe it takes a village to raise our children. I look forward to meeting you and your family soon!

I'm a proud mother and loving wife born and raised in Florence, SC. I have over 20 years of experience working with children. I began helping children while assisting at a pediatric therapy clinic and then moved on to assisting at public schools. I enjoy helping children grow, learn and achieve goals.
