Welcome to Our School

Welcome to La Petite Academy in Aurora, IL! We service families from Aurora, Sugar Grove, Batavia, Montgomery, and the surrounding areas. Our La Petite Academy was established in 2004 and in addition to providing superior Infant care, our Preschool program offers the best early education in the Aurora community. We also offer enrichment programs that emphasize health and nutrition.

We are here to help and that is why at La Petite Academy we offer flexible scheduling. We are able to help from part-time to full-time care. Give us call today to discover the exciting opportunities we have for you!

All teachers are certified in CPR and First Aid and several teachers hold bachelor's degrees in education. Staff members attend at least 15 hours of continuing early education training each year. Our building uses a coded entry system and only prearranged adults may pick up. Visitors are required to visit the front office.

Valerie Convery, Director

Education: Degree in Early Childhood

Certifications: Child Care Administration, ServSafe Food Safety Manager, CPR/First Aid

As the director, I take pride in building a strong sense of community both inside and outside our school, partnering with parents and teachers to ensure lifelong learning. I always had a passion for working with children. I love being a part of a child’s growth and development at every age level.

Amber Johnson, Assistant Director

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education

Certifications: CPR/First Aid, Child Care Administration, ESL, and Special Education

I have worked in early childcare for over six years. I spent my first five as a classroom teacher working with Infants, Early Preschool, and School Age. I have enjoyed seeing my students grow and learn just as much as my own children. I have a passion for multicultural and inclusive education and providing an environment for all learners to feel safe, supported, and excited at school.

Education: Seeking Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Leadership

I have worked in the early childhood field for 22 years. I have 14 years experience in the classroom and nine years experience as a member of management. I have been with La Petite Academy for the past six years. I am committed to providing families a safe and loving environment where children can learn and grow while exploring the world around them.
