Love for Babies, Love for Teaching

At La Petite Academy our infant teachers love babies. While that's important, it's not nearly enough. Here, infant teachers have many important responsibilities. They nurture, give care, maintain a safe environment and engage your baby, using the P.I.P.E. Curriculum to foster his healthy development.

They work to guide your baby into the wonderful world of language, by using sounds, songs, gestures and words. And they're constantly focused on finding ways to introduce new learning opportunities and extend new skills.

Highly Responsive Care

It's vitally important for the teacher to understand your baby's needs and how to create a positive bond with him. An infant who receives highly responsive care is able to learn more - about the world, about others and about himself. Babies who receive responsive care are less likely to get in trouble, get hurt or experience extreme frustration.

Responsive care doesn't mean merely responding to a child's need, but responding to signs of stress in a child's behavior and then applying appropriate strategies and activities. We train our infant teachers to recognize those signs and to appropriately respond to your baby in ways that she needs most.

Great People, Top Training

Our teachers come to us with a variety of early learning backgrounds, and all benefit from our extensive training and professional development support programs. Teachers go through a comprehensive three-day training program that gives them a thorough understanding of the Academy's standards and curriculum, as well as explores child and infant development issues. They work with trainers, with members of our experienced Education team, with other teachers and also on their own, to ensure they have all the tools necessary to be the kind of caregiver you expect and we demand.

All of our teachers, regardless of whether they are new or experienced, have access to myriad professional development opportunities through La Petite Academy's Education Department.
