You're nervous. Your child might even be a little nervous. A child's first 30 days at La Petite Academy or within a new classroom can be a challenging time for both parents and children. We invite you to stop by any time during this period of transition to observe your child's classroom and help make her transition as easy as possible.
We have many great tools on hand to help make this new child care education experience a positive one. In addition to face-to-face communication, you'll receive:
A member of Academy management will meet with you during the first week to make sure you've met your child's teacher and that you're informed about our processes and procedures, your child's schedule and where to locate things in the classroom.
To ease the anxiety many new parents feel on their child's first day, our Academy Director will be happy to call you (by request) to let you know how things are going.
You will get a letter from the teacher on the first Friday of your child's first week at La Petite Academy. The letter is an opportunity for teachers to introduce themselves, give you an overview of the daily schedule and highlight some of the activities your child will be working on.
Your child's teacher will send home this letter at the end of the child's second week in her new classroom. The letter allows teachers to share some of your child's favorite experiences at La Petite Academy.
The Academy Director will schedule a time to meet with you to check in and answer any lingering questions you might have.
A great opportunity to meet other new parents, this event is held several times a year.
If at any time you need to contact our Customer Support Team, you may call 1-800-La Petite or send an email. When sending an email, please let us know the best way to contact you. And, if you're a current La Petite Academy parent, we encourage you to provide us with the address of the Academy where your family is enrolled.
