Preschoolers love to explore through hands-on activities. At La Petite Academy, our child care curriculum combines our Back to Basics Math, Language & Literacy Program with Kindergarten-readiness activities that are based on the best early-childhood standards from across the nation. Our enriched Journey® preschool curriculum is designed to develop important foundational skills like literacy, mathematical thinking and problem-solving while stimulating your child’s creativity.
At this age, children require challenges, respond to motivation and crave praise. Recognizing that your preschooler needs to be engaged and nurtured at the same time, our highly trained teachers give them both the freedom and instruction to thrive.
The Preschool classroom at each of our La Petite Academy schools is designed to help your child become a part of a learning community, where they not only build skills vital to success in Kindergarten, but also respect for others and a sense of confidence. In designated areas throughout our safe learning environment, your preschooler will engage in a range of activities geared to prepare them for kindergarten and life beyond.
Our year-round Journey curriculum uses 26 themed units tied to specific learning activities. It incorporates journals and portfolios to encourage communication through drawing and writing. Your preschooler will also learn important social skills in our literature-based Kids of Character program. The typical daily structure for your preschooler might include:
In addition, our Journey summer program offers three months of learning, fun and sun—filled with exciting themes and activities that reinforce learning objectives and further school-readiness.
You’ll receive assessments regularly through daily written reports, ongoing portfolio collections, quarterly reports and family/teacher conferences twice a year, so you can rest assured that your preschooler is progressing throughout the year.
