Our Pre-Kindergarten Program is specifically designed to meet the learning needs of 4- and 5-year-old children. It is the final step in our three-year Journey Program, which includes our Early Preschool and Preschool Programs.

Especially in this last year, the goal is to introduce activities and experiences that will ensure your child will make a successful transition to kindergarten.

How We Achieve It

Our Pre-Kindergarten Program is made up of two courses of study: Scholastic’s Building Language for Literacy program and our theme-based Pre-K curriculum authored by the La Petite Academy Education Department. The combined curriculums focus on writing, math, science and social development. Developing critical-thinking skills and stimulating intellectual curiosity ensure your child will successfully and confidently enter kindergarten in the fall.

Our warm and educationally focused classrooms feature seven learning centers and are equipped with inviting, developmentally appropriate learning materials. For example, the Literacy & Language Center features our Pre-K Word Wall, which introduces new sight words to children to expand their vocabulary and writing skills in a fun and interactive way.

Students also learn important social skills in our Kids of Character program.

Parents are given assessment updates throughout the year. These include weekly written communications about your child’s learning, ongoing portfolio collections, quarterly assessment reports and family/teacher conferences twice a year.
