Early Preschool (2–3 years)
Hands-On Learning with Our Journey™ Curriculum
By the time your child approaches 3 years of age, he is ready to learn new skills and progress into our Early Preschool program. The Early Preschool Program’s Journey Curriculum is designed to prepare your child as he begins an educational voyage that will eventually lead to kindergarten and beyond.
Our Early Preschool Journey Curriculum combines kindergarten readiness activities with the best early childhood standards from across the nation. In addition to kindergarten readiness, our Early Preschool Program focuses on developing critical-thinking skills and stimulating your child’s curiosity.
How We Achieve It
Our Early Preschool teachers can customize the Journey Curriculum’s 26 themed units, such as Nursery Rhymes and My Five Senses, and 1,000 different learning activities to meet the diverse interests and needs of each group of children. Activities are designed to teach language and communication, cognitive skills, creativity, gross- and fine-motor skills, and personal and social skills.
The Early Preschool classroom features seven learning centers equipped with inviting and developmentally appropriate materials. For example, our writing center, equipped with a personal journal for each student, teaches pre-writing skills by allowing children to draw pictures and write or dictate their stories.
Early Preschoolers also learn important social skills in our Kids of Character program.
Parents are given assessment updates throughout the year. These include daily written reports on your child’s day, ongoing portfolio collections, quarterly assessment reports and family/teacher conferences twice a year.
