Welcome to La Petite at GBMC Hospital in Towson, MD!
Welcome to our wonderful educational daycare center in Towson, MD! My name is Emily, and I am the Academy Director of this wonderful school. I have a bachelor’s degree in family studies, with a minor in psychology. I have been in the early childhood field since 1997 as a teacher, and in a management position since 2004.
I am passionate about the well-being and education of our children, and I run our school as if every child were my own. The classroom environment and the teacher’s personality are both important aspects of the type of school that I would want my child to attend. I take pride in knowing that my staff and I are helping children grow and develop into successful learners.
Our school opened in November 1989, and has many long-tenured teachers who have created a true family environment. All of our staff members are CPR and first aid certified. Additionally, all of our teachers receive at least 24 hours of continuing education courses each year in addition to having several certifications that focus on early childhood education and infant and toddler development.
Our school is nationally accredited by the National Early Childhood Program Accreditation (NECPA) and all of our staff, program, policies and procedures have been approved by NECPA.
We believe in plenty of parent involvement activities and we hold a parent involvement activity at least once a month. We invite parents to participate in their child's day by coming to read to the class, participate in art activities, music activities, cooking activities, and more.
Our parents also have a parent group, which meets monthly to go over new events at the center, parent involvement activities, staff appreciation events, and activities for the children. Our school also has an open-door policy, so that you can feel free to stop in whenever you want to spend time with your child while they are at school.
Please stop by or call today to schedule a tour. We know you'll love our school as much as our families do!
