Welcome to our amazing daycare facility in Louisville, CO! My name is Terra Cook and I am the school Director. I received a BA in Psychology from the University of Colorado and I have over 12 years of experience working in Early Childhood Education. The majority of our staff have been teachers at La Petite for many years. Entrusting your child with us means your child will get to know staff members and form bonds that will last for years to come.
I love coming to La Petite everyday and seeing our children grow, learn, laugh and play. The best part of my job is the hugs I get from the children and the smiles I see throughout the day. The teachers and children here are like a family and because we are a small center everybody gets to know everybody. It’s like coming home to family when you walk in the door.
Early childhood is an extremely important time in a child’s life. Quality early childhood experiences set a foundation for a lifetime of learning. Here at La Petite in Louisville, we are much more than “daycare.” We provide meaningful play experiences so children are challenged and get a well-rounded education. We work on the basics, like numbers and letters, but we also help to build a child’s character through recognizing feelings and teaching empathy and caring.

Why Us
Since 1984, when this school opened, we have been offering children the very best in early childhood education. Our school provides children with three all-season and all-weather playgrounds covered with woodchips. We have swings, monkey bars, even a mini green belt for water play on sunny days. Because safety is among our highest priorities, our school is equipped with a pin-pad security system. Those who don’t have access must show identification and be let in by a member of management. Every day, I know that I helped a child learn. I lead an exceptional group of teachers who are committed to making a difference in our children’s lives.
Our Programs
La Petite Academy’s curriculum is industry leading. Developed by our team of education experts, our curriculum is based on age-appropriate learning objectives. Teachers in all our classrooms have hundreds of activities from which to choose, each tied to a specific learning objective. At our school, children will not only make the developmental progress necessary for success in school, they will love the activities that help prepare them!
Toddler Program (12+ Months):
Our toddler room is spacious and one of the most tranquil rooms in the building. It is filled with new toys and large windows let in plenty of natural light. This program emphasizes cognitive, emotional and physical development. We offer an extracurricular dance class. Part-time options are available.
Preschool/Pre-Kindergarten Program (4-5 Years):
Many children attend full day, but we also have a part-time option. We partner with local elementary schools to ensure that children are ready for kindergarten, and we compile Individual Learning Observation Assessments every three months to make sure we meet each child’s needs. We also offer extracurricular activities, including dance and a MUZZY Spanish immersion program. Teacher/student ratio is 1:12.
School-Age Program (5-12 Years):
During the school year, we focus on providing homework support for our school-age children. Our teachers work closely with the children to provide assistance in all subject areas in a creative and energetic environment. And our school-age classroom is the biggest area in the building, with a stage for drama and special presentations. Extracurricular programs include dance and the MUZZY Spanish program.
