Littleton, CO Daycare

Welcome to our wonderful daycare in Littleton, CO! I have been working in the field of early childhood education for 18 years. I began as a toddler teacher for my first 12 years before moving into management. I so enjoy working with the children and their families, making a connection and getting to know each individual. The best rewards are hugs from a child and trust from a parent.
I believe that to teach is a calling and only certain people are capable of doing it well. And I have a wonderful staff! Our teachers are all longtime employees and really love what they do. We offer continuous training for our teachers to keep them up-to-date with developments in the field, and several are enrolled in college graduate programs. Each person working in our building truly enjoys the daily interactions with the children and families.
I try to create an environment in which everyone feels comfortable coming to me. I strive to develop trust with the students, parents and staff, and communication with families is vital. We encourage parents to participate in our many programs in the Littleton community, including Dinner on the Go, Open House, Breakfast on the Run and a monthly Parents’ Night Out.
I will never forget the day a mom, in tears, dropped off her infant for the first time and was heartbroken at having to leave her. About midday, I snapped a picture of her baby smiling at her teacher and e-mailed it to the mom. When she came to pick up her daughter that night, she walked right over to me and gave me a huge hug. We keep in contact to this day.

Why Us
Our classrooms have a wonderful, open floor plan that enables students and teachers in different age groups to interact throughout the day and to assist each other when needed — and encourages older students to act as role models for younger children. Visiting families can easily see into each classroom and observe learning activities taking place. We have two large playground areas. For our younger children, we have climbing equipment, slides, and riding toys, and our older-children playground offers two climbing structures, a basketball court, grassy area and more. Because security is a high priority, our school has a magnetized door lock that can only be released by entering a code on the keypad. Only parents, staff and authorized individuals have the code. All others must show identification to gain admittance from the management staff. Our long-term staff really add a special element to our school. We have many families with children who started out as infants in our programs and are now moving on to public schools, providing a consistency with our staff and educational programs. Children enjoy coming to school each day and, I’ve been told, ask to come on the weekends!

Testimonials
From the moment we did the walk-through tour I knew La Petite Academy was the place for my son. It has a colorful environment, family friendly staff and overall a very welcoming appeal. La Petite Academy has become so important to my son, that…when leaving, he has to wave or hug to every teacher. We could not have asked or dream of a better place. his school has become my son’s extended family. – Brittany and Randal I am grateful to have the opportunity to thank all of you for your awesome care for my boys. As a stay at home mom I struggled with the reality that I would have to now put my kids in daycare. Not only have you taken the time to nurture my kids but you have also cared about me and taken the time to enter into my chaotic life and share your own experience, strength and hope for a better future! You are all extraordinary people. – Sami E
