Why Us
This school opened in 1995 and was remodeled in 2008. Our staff members are truly dedicated and passionate about the impact that they have in our children’s lives. We guarantee a brilliant beginning for each child with an emphasis on quality programs and curriculum, flexibility in schedules and programs, value for your tuition, safety in all of our practices and procedures and a commitment to you. Our building fosters an “open concept” in our preschool, pre-kindergarten and school-age rooms to help the students when they transfer to schools where the classes are set up this way. With the children having previous experience with “open concept” rooms prior to school, this significantly reduces the distraction and stress for the child as they continue on their educational journey. Our school received a new playground a year ago with a bike track, field, basketball court and a rock wall on the play structure! Because we value the relationships with our families, we are developing a PAL group, which is similar to the PTA in elementary schools. We also offer monthly opportunities for parents to come and help in the school and to connect with their children in the class. Our school is equipped with locked entrances at all times because safety is a top priority. Only parents and staff are allowed to have access to the building during the operating hours. Our Programs
La Petite Academy’s curriculum is industry leading. Developed by our team of education experts, our curriculum is based on age-appropriate learning objectives. Teachers in all our classrooms have hundreds of activities from which to choose, each tied to a specific learning objective. At our school, children will not only make the developmental progress necessary for success in school, they will love the activities that help prepare them!
Infant Program (6+ Weeks):
We have a specialized infant teacher who has worked in the school district to implement the curriculum in our infant class that focuses on developmental milestones and accomplishments. We provide a warm and nurturing atmosphere for our children as well as stimulating activities. A part-time program is available.
Toddler Program (12+ Months):
Our toddler room features many interactive toys as well as play mats to encourage the development of fine- and gross-motor skills. Our lead toddler teacher engages our children in activities that accommodate your child at any stage. We also offer weekly music classes! A part-time program is available.
Preschool/Pre-Kindergarten Program (4-5 Years):
Our pre-K class utilizes the Texas Early Education Model (TEEM) project. The TEEM project is dedicated to a high quality early childhood model, based on proven school readiness components that are funded by the state. This challenging, fun and age-appropriate program engages the whole child, helping to hone thinking, reasoning and communicating. We offer Kindermusik’s ABC Music & Me, a weekly music enrichment program that builds a sturdy foundation for music education as well as MUZZY Spanish classes. Our children are engaged in educational and exciting classroom activities that prepare them for the social and academic expectations of kindergarten as well as foster a love for learning! Part-time programs are available. We prepare children for kindergarten based on the philosophy that children learn best through play. All of the learning in our preschool and pre-kindergarten classes is done through interactive lessons, activities and conversations. While children think they are playing they are encouraged to use problem solving skills, teamwork and to think critically about everyday situations.
School-Age Program (5-12 Years):
During the school year, we focus on providing homework support for our school-age children. We also offer interactive themes to continue education based on activities in which the children show interest! Our goal in the school-age classroom is to inspire the children to become anything they want to be! We offer a supportive and educational environment and an awesome summer camp!
