Child Care That Sustains Curiosity

Two-year-olds are filled with energy and curiosity about the world and are developing a sense of increasing independence. They are undergoing rapid development in many areas, and are eager for attention to help them learn and understand how the world works.

La Petite Academy’s unique Two’s Curriculum is designed to support and reinforce the independence your two year-old exhibits by providing fun and challenging activities that promote all aspects of his or her development.

How We Achieve It

Our Two’s Program focuses on a Whole Child Education and covers a wide range of skills including those related to self-help, language, cognitive and physical development.

Our child care curriculum consists of 26 thematic units that run year-round. Listening to stories, singing songs, playing games and doing art projects help develop language and vocabulary skills, as well as movement and cognitive skills.

Each safe and secure classroom is designed with six different interest centers, such as a storytelling center, a games and puzzles center and a water and sand center. Each classroom is designed with children in mind — shelves are open, supplies are easy to reach and tables are low so that your child can help him- or herself to materials, and then help put them back when done. Your busy two-year-old will have many chances to explore sand, water and other sensory activities, build with blocks, create masterpieces in the art area, and explore the world of make-believe in the dramatic play center. State-mandated teacher-to-child ratios also ensure that children receive the loving attention they deserve.

Families receive a daily communication, detailing exactly what each child does every day. Teachers use ongoing observation and developmental checklists to thoroughly assess your child’s development every quarter.
