The La Petite Academy Privacy Policy

La Petite Academy Inc. values our customers’ participation, interests and needs and takes great pride in its relationships with its guests. In order to provide educational and daycare services as well as information regarding those services, La Petite Academy Inc. (“La Petite Academy” or “we”) will occasionally ask you to provide us information about yourself and/or the children you have enrolled or seek to enroll at La Petite Academy. This Privacy Policy describes the information we collect and how we use that information.

La Petite Academy takes the privacy of your personal information very seriously and will use your information only in accordance with the terms of this Privacy Policy. When we collect personal information, including your name, e-mail address, home address, phone, or child’s name or age, we use it only for internal purposes to improve our services to our customers. The information will not be shared or sold to any party outside La Petite Academy without your prior consent.

By providing La Petite Academy with personal information, you expressly consent to our use and disclosure of your personal information in the manner described in this Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy will take effect on June 1, 2006.

For visitors who provided personal information on our web site prior to the date that this Privacy Policy becomes effective, we will apply this Privacy Policy to personally identifiable information associated with that account only if the visitor accepts the terms and conditions of this Privacy Policy. Once the visitor has accepted these terms and conditions, this Privacy Policy will also apply to personally identifiable information collected from that visitor prior to the effective date of this Privacy Policy.

A Special Note About Children. Although La Petite Academy provides educational and daycare services, this web site is for the use of parents only. La Petite Academy does not collect personal information from minors (under the age of 18) and we ask that minors do not submit any personal information to us via this web site.

Additionally, in the event that all or substantially all of the assets relating to lapetite.com are transferred or sold to another entity, personally identifiable information submitted to us may be transferred to the acquiring entity.

Information We Collect. La Petite Academy collects and stores a limited amount of personally identifiable information from the users of this web site. That information is limited to your name, e-mail address, home address, phone, and/or child’s name or age.

In addition, because of the way that World Wide Web communication standards work, when you arrive at or leave the La Petite Academy web site, we automatically receive the Web address of the site that you came from or are going to. We also collect information on which pages of our web site you visit, the type of browser you use and the times you access our web site. We use this information only to try to understand our visitors’ preferences better and to manage the load on our web server, so as to improve our service and your experience with La Petite Academy. We do not track the web sites that you visit before or after you leave the La Petite Academy web site.

If you send us correspondence, including e-mails and faxes, we may retain such information in the records of your account. We will also retain customer service correspondence and other correspondence from La Petite Academy to you. We retain these records in order to measure and improve our customer service. We may, over time, delete these records as permitted by law.

In addition, third party vendors, including Google, show our ads on sites on the internet. They use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to our website. Users may opt out of Google’s use of cookies by visiting the Google Privacy Center.

Use and Disclosure of Information. We use the information we collect about you in order 1) to provide our services, 2) to provide customer service, 3) to improve our services and 4) to provide you information regarding our services.  We give access to individually identifiable information only to those La Petite Academy staff members who are required to fulfill these functions.

La Petite Academy will not share, sell or rent any of your personally identifiable information to third parties without your prior consent. Although La Petite Academy does not disclose this information to third parties, you have the right to inform us of your specific wish that your information not be disclosed to third parties and may do so by contacting us at parentline@lapetite.com.

We communicate with parents of children enrolled at La Petite Academy via e-mail, U.S. mail or telephone to provide requested services or resolve complaints. We may also contact these parents to send information about important changes to our services. Generally, these parents cannot opt out of these communications, but they will be primarily informational in nature rather than promotional.

We may also use your information to send you other communications of a promotional nature. You can choose whether to receive these communications by notifying us of your decision to opt out of these communications at parentline@lapetite.com.

Accessing and Changing Your Information. You can review the personal information you provided us and make any desired changes to such information at any time by requesting a copy of the information maintained by La Petite Academy about you at parentline@lapetite.com. Upon request, La Petite Academy will provide you a complete copy of the information maintained by La Petite Academy about you for your review and correction.

La Petite Academy allows parents to make tuition payments over the Internet through a third-party payment service. This third-party service, First Data Merchant Services (FDMS), collects and maintains certain financial information from parents in order to process these tuition payments. La Petite Academy does not collect or maintain any personally identifiable financial information and FDMS does not share any personally identifiable financial information with La Petite Academy. All tuition payment transactions are governed by the Privacy Policy of FDMS.

Third-Party Web Beacons: We use third-party web beacons from Yahoo! to help analyze where visitors go and what they do while visiting our website. Yahoo! may also use anonymous information about your visits to this and other websites in order to improve its products and services and provide advertisements about goods and services of interest to you.
